The Central Committee of the Maoist Communist Party – OC expresses its unconditional solidarity with the nine activists kidnapped by the political police of the Amerikan fascist regime.
The arrest of these organizers, including cadres of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, WILD, and the Frontline Party for Revolutionary Action, are a clear attempt by the imperialists to silence dissent and stamp out the anti-colonial uprising sweeping across the country, most recently sparked by the farcical charges raised against the murderers of Breonna Taylor.
As communists and revolutionaries, we are accutely aware of the constant threat of repression. While egregious, the recent arrests in Colorado represent only the tip of the repressive iceberg; we need only look to the history of the communist movement in this country to see the full breadth of the intelligence apparatus that can be deployed to oppose the revolutionary masses.
Accordingly, it is our responsibility to reject and openly struggle against rightist tendencies towards “legalism.” These arrests demonstrate with absolute clarity that the enemy do not operate according to the framework of crime and punishment in their repression of the class movement; we cannot allow our struggle to be circumscribed by tactics which the state permits, particularly when it is made clear that this permission was always conditional. Only a clandestine revolutionary party of a new type, based in the deepest segments of the masses and forged in the fires of class struggle, can lead the movement to its victory. The task is on communists everywhere to recommit to the construction of such a party, and to struggle for the people, against the enemy, wherever we find ourselves.
